Voluto nel ‘400 da Francesco Sforza, veniva utilizzato per l’irrigazione delle campagne ma rappresentava anche l’ambizioso progetto di congiungere Milano con il Lago di Como e quindi con le Alpi e il Ticino. Il Naviglio della Martesana è un luogo ricco di storia e di bellezza, un patrimonio di tutti che però oggi è ancora poco conosciuto e tutelato. Lungo il Naviglio corre una pista ciclabile piuttosto frequentata, che permette di ammirare le bellezze paesaggistiche e culturali, come la ricca flora, la fauna o le numerose ville storiche.
